You don't matter (politically) unless you vote, and you can't vote (legally) unless you register, and many Yale students wouldn't register (unfortunately) if the Dems didn't go door-to-door. So basically, we're doing this so that Yale matters. So it's pretty important. Meet in the Branford Common Room.

Well, we can't help you with that, but on October 1, we are having a forum featuring representatives from the campaigns, and we need people to plan how it's going to work, what questions are going to be asked, how they're going to be asked, and whatever else you and Issues Coordinator Abby McCartney think needs to be planned. The only thing the Yale College Democrats endorse in primaries is a well-informed electorate.

In lieu of a regular Monday meeting, the Dems are going to see the candidates for Ward 22 aldermanic election debate the issues important to Ward 22 voters. All four candidates will be there: Greg Morehead (endorsed by the Yale College Democrats), Cordelia Thorpe, Lisa Hopkins, and Reggie Lytle. Come hear what they all have to say!

Dems Meetings: Voter Registration in Ward 22 for the April 16th Special Election

The special election for Ward 22 alderman is on Monday, April 16. Ward 22 includes Stiles, Morse, Swing Space, and TD, so that means Yale students can vote. The voter registration mail-in deadline is April 2, so this week is key for registering voters. And we have two opportunities to do that this week -- Monday and Wednesday --, so take advantage of them to help register voters and to register yourself if you live in Ward 22!

NHA Student Activism Summit

This Saturday, the group will decide which initiative to pursue (options include early childhood education, health, immigration, and clean energy).
