Join the Asian American Cultural Center for a panel discussion focusing on working with minority communities, issues of gender and race in the political sphere, serving as advocates and lobbying for the interests of the minority community within the larger political landscape, and issues facing the Asian American community as it gains more attention from those in/running for office. The panelists will also look closely at Asian America, its politics, its participation, challenges faced under the current political situation, voting trends and grounds on which coalitions on race or common interest are based.

This Friday, the Dems are heading to Hartford to lobby for the public financing of elections, where we will take part in a press conference and speak one-on-one with CT legislators. Come to tonight's meeting to learn more about the issue and how lobbying works from Ward 14 Alderman Joe Jolly as we prepare for Friday's trip.

A representative from the Washington Internship Program is coming to Yale, so now is your chance to hear about a number of internships for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in national and international politics, foreign policy, business, and advocacy work, networking with dignitaries, and improving foreign language and diplomacy skills. Placements have included the offices of United States Senators, Congressmen and Congresswomen, the Iraq Reconstruction Task Force, Amnesty International, the Center for the Prevention of Genocide, Human Rights Watch, the United Nations, and much more.
