Another piece of great news from the CT Legislature: In a special session, a compromise ethics bill passed with overwhelming margins. Having negotiated a compromise that stalled the bill at the end of the regular session, judges will now be given the option of revoking state officals and employee pensions if convicted of corruption related crimes. Another round of congratulations for all of those who talked to legislators about this controversial piece of legislation.

Governor Rell has signed and therefore enacted into law a bill that caps carbon emissions in Connecticut. Congratulations to all of the Dems members who worked so hard to pass this bill. See the full article from the Hartford Courant below:

Be especially sure to check out the picture of the guy in the Snowman costume, our very own Matthew Ellison. HB 5600, which would set mandatory carbon caps across the economy in CT, emulating what has be done in California and New Jersey, recently passed the Appropriations committee by a 35-7 vote and now heads to the floor.
