The Sierra Club is offering a workshop entitled "Sex and the Environment" on the connection between global warming and comprehensive sex education for young people. The interactive workshop will feature Shelby Knox, who famously demanded comprehensive sex education in her small, evangelical community of Lubbock, Texas. She is currently traveling around the nation to raise awareness about the lack of comprehensive sex education in schools, using the film based on her story as a vehicle for discussion. The workshop will also feature Mollie Pickens, a senior at Columbia University. She is an active leader for the environmental movement, having worked for environmental organizations both here and abroad and seen first-hand the environmental challenges that face the world today.
