Unity08 fundamentally misunderstands American politics

Unity08 is a website that wants to nominate 1 Democrat and 1 Republican as a third-party presidential ticket. Now, who thinks that a third-party presidential ticket is ever a good idea? Outside of me when I was 16 years old, pretty much nobody.

Their rationale? Partisanship is what's causing all the problems in America today. The Democrats and Republicans don't have good programs and spend too much time fighting. As far as I'm concerned, Unity08 is about half right. Republican government has been a disaster. And they've been the only ones governing for the past 6 years -- you can't try to lay blame for the current national crisis on the Democrats' doorstep.

Gah, this pisses me off so much. Read this, it just about says it all.

P.S. -- Hope everybody's summer is going well, and that the members of the Unity08 facebook group recover from their head injuries soon.
