2008 starts now, and it starts in Virginia! Join college students from around the country who are going to Virginia for Election Weekend to elect Tim Kaine governor! Though Virginia went to Bush in ‘04, it currently has a very popular Democratic governor, and with your help Virginia can stay blue! The Virginia Coordinated Campaign will provided housing; all you have to do is show up during Election Weekend. Help is also needed Saturday, October 29, and Sunday, October 30. Tuesday, November 1, 2005 - Help Lobby for the Earned-Income Tax Credit!

An upcoming project of the Dems Lobbying Task Force is the campaign for the Earned-Income Tax Credit. Otherwise known as the EITC, it is an important tax break for working families. Over the next few weeks, we are going to need help in two areas: coalition-building and research. These areas are crucial, and the work we do now will pay off in a big way once we start gearing up for the next legislative session.
